Obituary for Cecile Rollande Wolfe (Charlebois)

WOLFE, Cecile Rollande

It is with extreme sadness that we announce the passing of Cecile Wolfe. She was a bright spark in this world, a caring wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She left this world on
February 8, 2022 at the age of 95, holding her daughter Nicole’s hand and surrounded by love. The simplest pleasures in life brought great joy to Cecile. She had an unwavering ability to find
happiness in her daily activities with family and friends. Her smile and pragmatic determination
to see any obstacle through will be greatly missed and her quiet strength will continue to serve
as an inspiration to her family.
Cecile was born to Ferdinand and Yvonne Charlebois on May 27, 1926 and grew up in
Hammond, Ontario. She enjoyed a pastoral family life and was, along with her lifelong friend,
Therese Guidon, the doubles tennis champion of many local villages. On a beautiful summer
day in 1953, after graduating high-school and a brief stint as a career woman, Cecile married
Jean- Paul Wolfe, a long-time family friend. Together, they were the devoted parents of 3
children: Gerry, Denise and Nicole whom they loved fiercely and unconditionally.
Cecile leaves behind her children Gerry (Lynne), Denise (Michael), Nicole (Peter)
granddaughters, Vanessa and Katie (Paul); grandsons Max and Damien; as well as many nieces
and nephews. She is preceded in death by her husband Jean-Paul; her brother and sisters, and
many nieces, nephews and friends whom she held close to her heart.
A celebration of life and internment of her urn will occur in the spring in the Village of her
birth, Hammond. Arrangements entrusted to Considerate Cremation & Burial Services, 26 Nihan Drive, St. Catharines (between Lake Street & Scott Street), 289-362-1144. Online condolences may be made at CCBSCares.ca
