JOHNSON, Charles Egerton “Chuck”

It is with great sadness that the family of Charles “Chuck” Johnson announces his passing on December 25, 2020, at 90 years of age. He’s predeceased by his beloved wife, Margaret Johnson (nee Gulas), who passed away on Jan. 9, 2020. Chuck is predeceased by his parents, Earl and Mamie (nee Robins), siblings: Patricia (Pat) Johnson, Louise (Lou) Johnson, Bill and his wife, Mae, Johnson, Al and his wife, Ida, Johnson and Vic and his wife, Topsy, Johnson, as well as siblings-in-law: Elizabeth (Betty) and Douglas Campbell, Michael and Fernie Gulas and Theresa Bolyki, and step-sons Alan and Murray Hubick. Chuck leaves behind his sons, Bruce Johnson (Brenda) and Norman Johnson, step-son Donald Hubick, daughters-in-law Jane Newton and Vanessa Smart, sister-in-law Goldie Hubick, and eleven grandchildren: Emma (Glen), Maggie (Ian), Gillian (Kyle), Alexander (Jenny), Carly (Michael), Joshua (Iona), Zhadkiel, Harmony, Serenity, Andrew and Amy, as well as nine great-grandchildren. Chuck will also be missed by his beloved nieces and nephews, and extended families. Chuck will be remembered as a kind and gentle soul, who’s passion for music and dancing, and travelling to Cuba, was second only to his love of dogs. Chuck’s family wishes to extend a heartfelt thank-you to the staff at West Park Nursing Home in St. Catharines for their outstanding care and compassion over the past year. Chuck will be put to rest at Woodlawn Cemetery in Welland with his beloved wife Margaret. There will be a joint Celebration of Life service for both Chuck and Margaret at a yet-to-be-announced date. Memorial donations can be made to the Alzheimer Society of Canada or Project Life Saver Niagara.
