Obituary for Darrell William Lintaman

LINTAMAN, Darrell William

On Sunday, January 8th, a beloved husband, father, grandfather and friend to many, passed away at the age of 84. Husband of Wilma Lintaman for 63 years, loving father of Thelma Anderson (William) and Linda Reid (Robert), dear granddad of Andrew (Chelsea), Laura (Matthew), Robert, and Jennifer. Son of Mae Scudder and Bill Lintaman as well as brother of the late Wayne (Elaine) and Roger (Myrna) Lintaman. Survived by cousins, nieces and nephews.
Born in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia, Darrell was a welder, a draftsman, and then came to Niagara as the owner of McConkey/Banwell Drafting Company. Darrell served as the Worshipful Master Seymour 277, as the TPGM Niagara Valley, appointed Grand Stewart AF&AM, coroneted an Honorary Inspector-General of the 33rd degree, served as treasurer for Niagara Valley A&ASR, member of the Niagara Shine. He was member of the St. Columba Church, recipient of Order of Niagara and Ministers Warden.He enjoyed hunting, fishing, building model airplanes/cars, skating, history, camping, operating a Ham radio, and spending time with family and friends. Darrell was a committed family man who loved supporting his children’s and grandchildren’s hobbies and sport as well as Montreal Canadiens fan, an avid traveler with trips to Hawaii, Scotland, Canada coast to coast and many trips to Florida. He was a true people person with the biggest smile. The family wishes to extend their gratitude to the amazing and caring staff at Linhaven Nursing Home. Special thanks to Dr. Wayne Gruber, and to the many medical professionals that aided in his care. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 21st at St. Columba Church, 7 St. Columba Dr. St. Catharines, with church services starting at 11:30 am followed by a reception in the church hall. If so desired, memorial remembrances/donations to Heart & Stroke Foundation, Linhaven Nursing Home, or the charity of one's choice in his name would be appreciated by the family.
