It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of David. Lovingly known as Sweetheart, Dad, Opa, brother, Uncle Dave and Coensy. He takes with him the hearts of his lifelong love Cheryl, his children: Robyn (Sean), Ryan (Vanessa) and Josh (Nicole), his pride and joy. his grandchildren: Owen, Maddie, Ben, Logan, Sadie, Abby and Harrison. His very large family, countless friends and Breaker brotherhood are left heartbroken. David was raised in a small town called Marmora and came to Niagara as a teenager. He took up a career in concrete where he was mentored in the concrete industry by his second father, Silvio Garofalo. He was passionate about the Toronto Maple Leafs, Crown Royal, playing hockey and golf, but it was with his children and grandchildren that he lived and breathed for. David’s life path was riddled with obstacles including his cancer journey, but one would never know with that his generous spirit always finding a way to selflessly help another. The family would like to thank the Walker Family Cancer Centre specifically the Dr. Kodous and Dr. Conen teams, his home care angel, Gary, his constant support Gloria, Carmen, Tony, Robin, Nellie, Don, Al and the Breaker family for their endless generosity and spiritual support. Dave, we hope you find peace and are reunited with your Mom, Lena, and father, Jake, siblings: Ruth and Audrey, extended parental influences, Rose, Silvio and John, best friends Carl and “Fluffy”. Your memory will live on until we meet again.
