Obituary for Donald Thomas Taylor

TAYLOR, Donald Thomas “Don”
Passed away peacefully, at the St. Catharines Hospital on September 1, 2022 in his 86th year. Dear husband of Lorraine (nee Hand) for 54 years. Beloved father of Shannon (and special son-in-law Jack Pollock) and son Jeffrey Taylor. Loving Papa of his precious granddaughter, Jenna (Dolly), and special Godfather of Tobi Tomins all of St. Catharines. He leaves his brother, Ray (Dale) Taylor of Stratford, his sisters-in-law, Sylvia Taylor, Bev (Jim) Penman, Mary Jane Bevan and brother-in-law, Alan Hand, all of St. Catharines, his brothers, Bedford (Gwen), Robert, and sister, Gloria of Seaforth. Fondly remembered by his many nieces, nephews and cousins. Don was predeceased by his parents Jack and Dora Taylor of Seaforth, his brother, Fred Taylor, sisters-in-law Suzette St. Amand and Jennie Hand and by his brother-in-law, Wayne Bevan, all of St. Catharines. Don served the Canadian Navy for eight years then the Steamship lines for three years before ending up at Hayes Dana for 31 years retiring as supervisor in 1998. He was a member of the Merritton Legion Br. #138, he loved fishing, golfing, going to the Casino and getting together with the gang for football parties at Roy Zaluskis’ place. In honouring Don’s wishes cremation has taken place and a private family service will be held at a later date.
