LARCOMBE, Frederick James
Frederick James Larcombe (aka fast Freddy) passed away peacefully in his 82nd year after a lengthy illness at St. Catharines Hospital on March 21, 2023. Fred was the loving father of Wendy Soble (John), Debbie Difrancesco (George), Cheryl Blackburn (Gilbert), Cindy Lewis (Edward), Robyn Larcombe (Scott), Paul Larcombe and Nadine Hinch (Jonothan). Cherished brother of Patsy Wickens (Doug), David Larcombe (Elizabeth), Joy Scriver and the late Leslie John Larcombe (Cheryl). Fred’s parents were Arthur and Norma Larcombe of Campbellford, Ontario. He was a fun-loving Poppa to Nicole & Terra Soble, Candice & Keshia Difrancesco, Trevor, Bradley & Andrew Blackburn, Tawnie Hetu, Cassi Koopman, Mitchell Lewis, Raina Tucker, Molly & Dawson Hinch and many great-grandchildren. Fred loved life and making friends. He saw the good in everyone and was always helping those who needed it most. His love of beer, cheese, country music, a good bargain and working on projects energized him. He was courageous, adventurous and full of energy. His talents and good humour took him across Canada where he worked as a millwright and then later in life a safety salesperson where he made many friends and created lasting memories. These stories he recounted throughout his life. Fred spent a lot of time with his loyal dog, Bailey, and his friends who were like family to him. He will be sadly missed by all who knew him. Fred’s pulling a “Hank Snow” and Movin’ on. We hope Fred and his brother, Les, are having a whiskey together. Cheers! In honouring Fred’s wishes a Celebration of Life is in the works for May.
