It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Johanna Labelle in her 102nd year on May 12th, 2023 at the St. Catharine’s Hospital. She was predeceased by husband Claude. Loving mother of Claudette, Monique (John) and Claire. Cherished grandmother of Erik (Ruth) and Warren (Marie-Claude). Johanna had twelve siblings. She is survived by Loretta, Albert (Rosemarie), Dolores, Robert (MaryAnn), Gordon and many nieces and nephews. Johanna was born in Vibank, Saskatchewan. She was the only sibling to make her way East to settle in Montreal. Johanna became a skilled seamstress and later in life she volunteered at the Montreal General Hospital. She designed and sewed many beautiful children’s dresses, which she donated to the gift shop. In 1996 Johanna moved to St.Catharines, where she enjoyed cheering on her favourite baseball team, the Toronto Blue Jays. A special thanks to the staff at the Heatherwood Retirement Residence, as well as the staff at the St. Catharines Hospital Orthopedic Ward. The family will hold a private service. Interment will follow at the Victoria Lawn Cemetery.
