Obituary for John Nicholas Collins

COLLINS, John Nicholas

John N. Collins of St. Catharines, Ontario passed away on July 17, 2022, at St. Catharines General Hospital. John is survived by his loving partner Beverly McCreedy, his daughters Natalie Collins, Kimberly Collins, Monique Marceau and son-in-law Leonard Marceau, sisters Patricia Canie and Mary Fraser. John is predeceased by his son Johnny, parents Michael and Amelia Collins, sisters Betty Moore, Ethel Hogan, Agatha Ryan and his brother Mickey Collins. Born in Montreal, Quebec on August 25, 1940, John taught at Lord Elgin Vocational School in Niagara Falls for 25 years. A proud member of Scouts Canada for 30 years, a magician and ventriloquist for over 50 years and a member of the International Brotherhood of Magicians. You could always expect that he would magically find a quarter behind your ear or teach you a campfire song. He loved woodworking and was a master painter. In keeping with John’s wishes, cremation has taken place. A celebration of life will be held at a later date. “It was a magical life, where jokes would abound, with a wee shot of whiskey with loved ones around.” Arrangements entrusted to Considerate Cremation & Burial Services, 26 Nihan Drive, St. Catharines (between Lake Street & Scott Street), 289-362-1144.
