Obituary for Keith Miller

MILLER, Joseph “Keith”
April 10, 1950 – March 21, 2022

At home, with his girls by his side, Joseph “Keith” Miller passed away on Monday March 21, 2022, just three weeks shy of his 72nd birthday. Fiercely loving husband of Janet (nee Merkley) of almost 48 years. Loved father of Robin Whyte (Tim) and Carleigh Miller (Shaine). Best Poppa in the World to Colton, Campbell, Everleigh and Lochlainn. Keith was born on Skead Rd, near Sudbury, ON to Charlie and Jeanne Miller. He was the third of five children: Sharon Boffa (Dan), John Miller (Sharon), Brenda Hawke, Mona Kennedy (Vern deceased) and had many nieces and nephews. Keith and Janet married and moved to St. Catharines in 1974 where he found work as an electrical apprentice. He went on to become a Master Electrician and spent the last 20 years of his career with Miramar Inc., servicing Avondale stores across the Niagara Peninsula and making many friends along the way. Friends and family can attest to Keith’s generous spirit, especially when it came to his craft and his knowledge, as he helped out many with different projects throughout the years - anytime a helping hand was needed. Things Keith loved: golfing and fishing trips with his friends, watching his grandsons play baseball and hockey, spending time with his family, travelling with his wife, driving and his truck; but mostly, his three girls: Janet, Robin, and Carleigh. Things Keith hated: laziness & painting! Keith’s family would like to thank the medical teams from St. Elizabeth’s, WFCC, and LHSC Transplant Team for their care and compassion over the years. Miller was never alone in his battle and always had the strength and encouragement of good friends along the way. The unwavering support of his best buds including Paul, Ronny, Magoo, Newlove, Mike, Dennis, Gary, Kenny, Bob, Porky and Dean, brought laughter and joy to his journey, especially during his final months. A celebration of Keith’s life and legacy will take place at Beechwood Golf & Social House from 1 to 4 pm on April 10, 2022, what would have been his 72nd birthday. All are welcome to join in sharing stories, memories and a toast to the man everyone loved and cherished. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations to The LHSC Multi-Organ Transplant Program or sign up to be an organ donor at www.beadonor.ca. In keeping with Keith’s wishes, cremation has taken place. Arrangements entrusted to Considerate Cremation & Burial Services, 26 Nihan Drive, St. Catharines (between Lake Street & Scott Street), 289-362-1144. Online condolences may be made at CCBSCares.ca
