Obituary for Margaret Diane McMahon (Brewer)

McMAHON, Margaret Diane (nee Brewer)
November 18, 1933 - May 25, 2022

Passed away peacefully, on May 25, 2022 in her 89th year surrounded by family after a battle with cancer. She fought her battle with grace and dignity, as she lived her life. She was the beloved wife of Khalman McMahon for almost 63 years. Loving mother of Margaret, Paul (Alisa) and predeceased by her darling son, Michael. She was the cherished grandmother (fondly called Tuka Tuka) of Connor and Declan. She was a sister of Catherine Elizabeth (Don) and Gary (Gail). Diane will also be remembered by other extended family, nieces and nephews and numerous close friends. Diane was born in Timmins, Ontario, graduated as an RN from St. Mary’s School of Nursing and then headed to Toronto, where she obtained her clinical instructor certification and began her career. Once married the family lived in various locations: Toronto, North Bay, Markham, Ste. Therese, Quebec, Coquitlam, B.C. and finally St. Catharines, Ontario. She was selfless and very dedicated to her family. As a life learner she always enjoyed pursuing courses either for personal interest or for credit. Later in life she obtained a Bachelor’s Degree from Simon Fraser University, B.C., at the age of 70. Special thanks to Dr. Van Rensburg, the Jurvinski Hospital and the NHS-Walker Family Cancer Centre. Thank you for the excellent care provided by HNBC CCAC, St. Elizabeth’s (nurse Babes), CBI (Kathy, Kathleen, Angelica, and Myrna), Nurse Next Door (Hassan) and VON. In honouring Diane’s wishes a cremation has taken place. Memorial donations to NHS-Walker Family Cancer Centre would be appreciated. Arrangements entrusted to Considerate Cremation & Burial Services, 26 Nihan Drive, St. Catharines (between Lake Street & Scott Street), 289-362-1144. Online condolences may be made at CCBSCares.ca
