Obituary for Martyn Edward Campbell

CAMPBELL, Martyn Edward
On February 4, 2017 at St. Catharines General Hospital Martyn Edward Campbell, aka Uncle Marty; aka Martiniuk; aka Moose, was granted freedom from his struggles with diabetes, kidney failure and cancer. Leaving us at 59 years of age, Marty’s life was far too short and he will be missed by all that knew him. Marty continued to displayed courage and optimism to those around him reminding us of how precious life is. We will dearly miss his sense of humor and light hearted sarcasm, love of tea, but most of all his love of family & friends. Having retired in 2009 from General Motors after 30 years as a Pipefitter, Marty enjoyed fishing, playing darts, listening to Blues and winter vacations in Florida. The youngest son of the late Glenn and Marjory Campbell, pre-deceased by his nephew Todd Campbell (1997). Much loved brother of Murray & Dorothy Campbell, Bob & Lora Campbell, Carolyn & Al Herspiegel, Kevin & Dianne Campbell. “The Favorite” Uncle of Sherri & Hugh Glass, Blair & Kathy Campbell, Kristi Pederson, Tara & Mark Harmsworth, Lorie Schottlander, Brent & Katie Herspiegel, Shaun & Gidget Campbell, Steff & Glenn Hunter, Scott Campbell, Mackenzie Campbell, Tracy Pasco and Peter Pasco. Additionally, Martyn was the family mentor for 19 of his great nieces and nephews. A special recognition to Marty’s K-9 niece, Kayla Marjory who stayed faithfully by his side to provide emotional support to him and others. A Celebration Of Life will be held in Marty’s honour from 11:30 am – 2 pm on Sunday, February 12, 2017 at Grantham Lion’s Hall, 732 Niagara Street. A graveside service will be held at a later date. Memorial donations to Kidney Foundation, Diabetes Association & Crohn's and Colitis Foundation would be appreciated by Marty’s family.
