Obituary for Norma Elizabeth Bresolin (Vaughan)

BRESOLIN, Norma Elizabeth (nee Vaughan) (1940 – 2023)

Surrounded by her family, it is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Norma Bresolin on March 6th, 2023 in her 83rd year after her second valiant battle with cancer. The family takes comfort in knowing that she is reunited with her adoring late husband and best friend of 53 years, Richard Bresolin, her parents Norman and Florence Vaughan (nee Jeffrey), and her late brother Donald Vaughan. Norma will forever be missed and loved by her children Laura Temko (Allan), Dan Bresolin (Rena) and Angela Day (Paul). Cherished grandmother to Abbygale, Amanda, Caleb, Zoi and Mac who were the light of her life. She is survived by her beloved sister Beryl Grant-Henderson and also leaves behind many nieces, nephews and cousins. Norma will be fondly remembered by her many treasured friends near and far. Mom was the true center and core leader of our family. Choosing first to be home to raise her children, in her late 30’s Norma took on the challenge of returning to Mohawk College to become a Registered Nursing Assistant. She went on to work at the Hamilton Henderson Hospital Continuing Care Ward (now known as Juravinski) where she looked after chronic care patients earning a reputation as a compassionate and caring nurse. Upon retirement, she took great pleasure in helping to care for all of her grandchildren and adored attending their sporting, graduations and special events. Norma always lived life to the fullest and enjoyed travelling with both family and friends. She will be remembered for her unconditional love for her family, her cooking, her zest for life, her laughter, and her wicked sense of humor. She had a natural ability to captivate a room with a funny story or spicy joke and to make those around her feel special. A special thank you to the doctors, nurses and staff at Juravinski Cancer Center and the palliative care team of Niagara Health Services. As per Norma’s wishes, cremation has taken place. A celebration of Norma and Richard’s life will be held at a future date. In lieu of flowers the family is asking that donations be made to the Kiwanis Club of East Hamilton. Arrangements entrusted to Considerate Cremation & Burial Services, 26 Nihan Drive, St. Catharines (between Lake Street & Scott Street), 289-362-1144. Online condolences may be made at CCBSCares.ca
