RUSSELL, Richard “Rick”
Passed away after a brief illness, at NHS-St. Catharines, on Thursday, March 9, 2023 at 67 years of age. Beloved soul mate and husband of Dorothy (nee Lavigne) for 47 years. Loving father of Donna Potter (Jerry) and Sueanne Russell (Mel). Proud Papa of Samantha, Rikki-Lynn, Sonya, Hunter and Great-Papa of Zelda. Cherished brother of Georgie, Peter, Shirley, Trish and Kevin. Dear brother-in-law of Betty (Dennis), Edward, Jeannie (Norman), Ida, Heather (Jake) and his special brown bear, Rosie. Rick was predeceased by his parents Minnie (nee O’Brien) and George, in-laws Adelard Lavigne and Rosemary Lavigne (nee McLauchlan), his siblings: Alfie, Archie, Jimmy, May, Judy, Allan and Paul, as well as his sister-in-law, Marie, and brother-in-law, Charlie. He will be missed by many nieces, nephews, cousins, his dog, Jackie, The Davis Street Family, and his friends and colleagues at Cotton Inc. He took great pride in taking care of his house, yard and his “Man Cave”. He was a lover of music, guitar and animals. He could always be counted on to lend a hand or lighten the mood with his quick wit and humour. Special thanks to the nursing staff and physicians on 2A for their dedication, compassion and professional care. In honouring Rick’s wishes a private family service will be held at a later date. Memorial donations to London Health Sciences Foundation would be appreciated.
