It is with great sadness that we announce Samantha lost her life-long battle with battle with Cystic Fibrosis, at 28 years of age, at the Toronto General Hospital, on Friday, April 28, 2023. Samantha is survived by her husband, Jonathan Barbeau, her parents: Nathalie Gervais (Daren) & Dale Degrace (Joelle); her sister, Stephanie Carriere (Kevin), step-sisters, Erica Hancox (Joel), Kyanna and Brody Degrace and her grandparents: Jocelyne Duquette (Claude), Florent Gervais, Estelle Degrace (Rene). Samantha was predeceased by her grandfather, Richard Degrace. She was loved and will be missed by all her friends and family. Samantha was an incredible girl who enriched the life of everyone she met, a strong girl who took life as it came with her own version of grace and humour. She loved books, crafting and camping with her family but most of all she loved furry four legged creatures. She leaves behind her fur babies: Mr. Feeny, Caramel, Pidaman, Gerald, Becky, Snowball, Peony, Lily and Poppy. In honouring Samantha’s wishes private family arrangements taken place. Memorial donations to Animal Rescue of Kapuskasing would be appreciated.
