Obituary for Stanley Dennis "Stan" Goch

GOCH, Stanley "Stan" Dennis

After a long courageous battle with cancer, it is with great sadness the family of Stanley Dennis Goch announce his passing, at Hospice Niagara, on Thursday, August 4, 2022 at 52 years of age.

Stan is survived by his wife, Maura (nee McDonough) of 26 years. and their daughters, Madeline (Jacob) and Samantha (Jim). Stan is the youngest sibling of Denise (Ralph) and Michael (Debbie). He is an uncle to Matthew (Brianna), Devin (Dani), Ryan (Nicole), Jeremy, Kevin and Aidan. Stan is also a great uncle of Aidynn and Addisyn. Stan is predeceased by his parents Stan Sr. (2003) and Colette (2021).

Stan was a proud member of the Norfolk OPP following in the career paths of his father and brother. He enjoyed volleyball so much that he decided to share the love of that sport with the youth in the Simcoe area. He was influential in forming The Simcoe Xtreme Volleyball Club. He volunteered for many great causes over the years.

Stan’s sense of humour will be remembered as he was always making people laugh. His family and friends were most important to him.

Stan’s family is most grateful for all the tremendous and wonderful care that he has received throughout his illness. The support and care shown by all of the health care workers, family and friends that all made Stan feel comfortable and loved right up to the end meant more to he and his family than you know.

In honouring Stan a Celebration Gathering will be held from 1-4 pm on Saturday, August 13, 2022 at Considerate Cremation & Burial Services, 26 Nihan Drive, St. Catharines (between Lake Street & Scott Street), followed by a private family gathering.
