KUSHKO, Stephanie “Stephi” Marie
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Stephanie "Stephi" at Juravinski Hospital, surrounded by her loving family, after a brief illness on February 3, 2023 in her 83rd year. She was born on August 29, 1940 in Grimsby.
She is survived by her siblings: Anne (Lionel) Overholt, Patrick Kushko, sister-in-law, Martine Kotlarchuk, nephew, Sean Kotlarchuk, and many nieces & nephews. Stephi will also be missed by the many family members of, the love of her life, the late William "Bill" McKenty.
Stephi was predeceased by her parents, Nicholas Kushko of Austria and Ella Kotlarchuk, of Elma, Manitoba, her step-father, Peter Kotlarchuk, and brothers: Andy Kushko and John Kotlarchuk.
Stephi carried this poem with her: "Goodbye my family, my life is past, I loved you all, to the very last. Weep not for me, but courage take, love each other, for my sake. For those you love don’t go away, they walk beside you every day".
We will all miss her bubbly personality and her jokes.
Her family wishes to thank the doctors and nurses at Juravinski Hospital.
In honouring Stephi’s wishes a private family service has taken place. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to ALS Society of Canada would be appreciated.
