1957 - 2022
Sadly, we announce the passing of Steve on January 30, 2022 after a brief battle with cancer. He was the beloved son of the late Chip and Belle Soyka. He will be sadly missed by sister, Sandy (Mark), niece, Stephanie (BJ), nephews; Scott (Jasmine) and TJ (Jem) and great-nephews; Jack, Freddie, Jude, Rex, Nolan, as well as his extended family and friends. Steve was a talented carpenter. He enjoyed flea markets, auctions, garage sales - collecting Buddhas, crocks, antique furniture and anything that caught his eye. He spent many happy times at Niagara’s casinos with luck on his side. A special thank you to Dr J. Child, the Walker Cancer Center physicians and staff, and the Palliative Home Care Team for their knowledgeable support and kindness. Cremation has taken place. At Steve’s request a private celebration of life will take place at a later date. If desired memorial donations to the NHS-Walker Cancer Center would be appreciated by Steve’s family.
