SMART, William “Bill”
With heavy hearts we announce the passing of our father, William “Bill” Smart on March 19, 2022 in his 100th year. Beloved father of Jane, Fiona and Lisa. Predeceased by his wife, Jean, and grandson, Sandy. Forever cherished Grandad of Matt, Kyle (Theresa), Kayla (Rob), Colin and great-grandchildren Madelyn, Charlotte, James and Hayden. Much loved partner to Barbara Lymburner.
Our Dad was the gold standard of what a life should be, always curious, always moving, always learning and forever dancing in our hearts. He always put his family first. Our Dad was a veteran of the Second World War, coming to Canada from the UK in 1954 living in Sudbury. He loved to work with wood and was an avid golfer; coming from St. Andrews in Scotland that was inevitable. Our parents retired to St. Catharines in 1988, where the golf and garden seasons were longer.
A Celebration of Life will be held from 2-4 pm on Saturday, March 26th, 2022, at the Dunlop Older Adults Centre, 80 Dunlop Drive. Memorial donations to Bereaved Families of Ontario - Toronto would be gladly accepted in lieu of flowers.
