Obituary

STOCKWELL, William (Bill)

It is with sadness that we announce the passing of William (Bill) Stockwell in his 80th year on Tuesday, January 26, 2021, in the Welland County General Hospital. He is survived by his sister-in-law Nicole (late John) Stockwell, and is the cherished (and special "great") Uncle Buddy to Diane (Rob; Christina, Jeffrey & Steven) Lamontagne, Lynda Stockwell (John Reich; Alyssa & Noah) and Kim (Rick; Erika & Blake) Jesik. Loving uncle of Lorraine and David Combs, he also leaves behind many cousins. Bill is the final member of his family to depart. Waiting to embrace him in heaven are his parents Jack (1969) and Teresa (1980), his sisters, Ginger (2001) Teresa (2014), and his brother John (2018). Bill had a passion for woodworking and loved spending time with family, breaking bread, playing cards and sharing much laughter. Incredibly, Bill passed away in the same hospital room as his brother John. We are taking some comfort in knowing that his big brother came to take him home. Special thanks to Bonnie and the kind staff of Orchardview Apartments, United Mennonite Homes in Vineland, where Bill resided, for their wonderful care. Our deepest gratitude to nurse Tara of West Lincoln Hospital, whose kindness to Bill was immeasurable. Cremation has taken place. Due to Covid-19 restrictions, a private family service will be held at a later date. As an expression of sympathy, donations may be made to Diabetes Canada in Bill's memory. Arrangements entrusted to Considerate Cremation & Burial Services, 26 Nihan Drive, St. Catharines (between Lake Street & Scott Street), 289-362-1144. Online condolences may be made at CCBSCares.ca
